Ascender Corp Aquired by Monotype Imaging

On December 8, 2010, Monotype Imaging announced the acquisition of Ascender Corp. We’re excited to be part of the Monotype Imaging team, as they have the same passion for type design and solving challenging font problems as we do.

This acquisition represents a continued commitment to provide the finest quality font development and licensing to Ascender’s customers. By combining Ascender’s expertise in type design, font engineering and multilingual font development with Monotype Imaging’s team of experienced professionals and renowned typefaces, we’re able to offer an unparalleled suite of font products and services to meet our customers needs.

Starting today, our customers will now have access to a more robust and comprehensive offering of typeface designs including the thousands of typefaces available in the esteemed Monotype®, Linotype® and ITC® typeface collections. In addition we will be able to offer a broader range of font technology products, all supported by an industry leading team of font development professionals.

By enriching our offering of typefaces and deepening our design expertise, this union will allow us to strengthen our ability to combine technology with design to help the world communicate.
